The Importance of Politics

This is the first post on my new blog. I’m just getting this new blog going, so stay tuned for more. Subscribe below to get notified when I post new updates.

Many people vote based on what is ‘popular’ at the time, for example in the most recent general election (2019) 56% of 18-24 year olds voted labour. Many of them being for the reasons that the Labour Party would improve many peoples quality of life but the younger people were heavily influenced by the stigma on Twitter and celebrities. (This is not necessarily a bad thing). This is similar to the older generation, with 10 years older it adds 9 points to them being likely to vote Conservative. A lot of the older generation are influenced by the morals they grew up around and how a lot of them are not prone to change.

How many of you actually know what you’re really voting for?

Here below are the links to the main Political parties Manifestos. The main parties currently are Conservative, Labour and the SNP party.

Corona…VIRUS

How does everyone feel about the Government’s approach to Covid-19?

‘Clap for the NHS’

During this pandemic everyone has come together in this time of need. Extremely heartwarming to see.

There has been a lot of strain on our different key workers. The NHS, supermarket workers and the government.

Despite there being a lot of hate towards Boris Johnson, it does seem to be that he’s doing a reasonably good job, especially as the whole country went into panic.

That being said – we knew the dangers of this virus much before lockdown was announced, so don’t you feel there could have been precautions put into place a lot sooner?

WHY are we as a nation having to donate to the NHS, despite having already paying them through taxes? Are the government really doing that bad of a job of funding our own health system?

But then… What position would we be in if Jeremy Corbyn was our Prime Minister right now?

How do YOU guys feel about it?

I asked a few people how THEY thought the media impacted the public’s way of voting-and this is what they had to say. I asked both males and females

I also asked them what they felt their main influences were when voting. The media is always a big impact but factors such as: Education, Family, Friends, Workplace as well as obviously your own values and morals.

Leave a comment about what influences you to vote!
